Can an employer interviewing me for a job ask for my ACC information?

Generally an employer can only get your ACC information with your consent. ACC has an established process where employers can ask for a job candidate’s injury history. ACC needs you to sign a consent form before it will process the request.
When ACC provides the information to your prospective employer, unless you give specific permission it will exclude these injury types:
• mental injury as a consequence of physical injury claims
• declined claims including accredited employer claims
• treatment injury claims
• claims occurring more than 10 years ago
• sensitive claims
• wilfully self-inflicted claims
• accidental death claim dependants.
