Can an employer reduce your pay?

Your pay is one of the terms in your employment agreement and these can’t be changed without your consent. Sometimes employees agree to wage reductions to prevent job losses. Your employer can reduce your colleagues’ salaries if they agree and are on an individual employment agreement (they still need to get at least minimum wage). Employees on collective employment agreements can only be paid less than the amount stated in the CEA if their pay is varied using the procedure also stated in the CEA.
