An employer can suspend you if you’re on strike but must let you know why, including which section of the Employment Relations Act 2000 they’re using. You’re suspended until the strike ends (unless the employer stops it sooner), but it doesn’t break your service. You keep being a party to the strike and your employer doesn’t have to pay you while you’re suspended.
