You can negotiate individual terms while being part of the collective agreement, as long as the terms don’t conflict with it. This means the additional terms must talk about things not covered in the collective agreement, or have better than minimum terms in the collective agreement. Additional terms must be agreed by both you and your boss. This can happen before or after you become bound by the collective agreement.
If your boss is offering you individual terms, they have to negotiate in good faith and give you the chance time to get independent advice just like when an employer offers an an individual employment agreement.
