Can I transfer my leave on public holidays?

If you have a night shift where you start work on one day and finish on another, you and your boss can agree to move the public holiday to another 24-hour time so it starts or ends on the holiday and covers your whole shift. You have to agree in writing and it can’t mean you get fewer public holidays. You and your boss can agree you’ll take a public holiday on another date, but it can’t mean you get fewer public holidays.
If you move a public holiday it has to be a working day for you, and you have to write down what holiday is moving and to what date. The new date can’t be your working day or another public holiday. The reason for you to take a public holiday on another date can’t be for your boss to avoid paying you more on a public holiday (but this can be a side effect).
