When you and your boss are negotiating new terms or a whole new agreement, you have to act in good faith. This means not misleading or deceiving each other. When you and your boss are negotiating an agreement (including changes to an existing one), your boss has to:
• give you a copy of the proposed agreement
• tell you that you can get independent advice, and give you a chance to get it consider and respond to any issues you raise.
Otherwise they could get a penalty. Your boss also has to tell you about your rights under the Holidays Act 2003, and that you can find out more from a union or MBIE. Pay and other terms in the employment agreement can be re-negotiated during a fixed-term contract.
