How does a union rep arrange to enter a workplace?

A union rep doesn’t need consent from an employer to enter a workplace if there’s a collective agreement covering work done there, or if an agreement is being negotiated. Otherwise they need to request consent. An employer has to respond within a working day of the request and can’t unreasonably withhold consent. If the employer doesn’t answer within 2 working days, this is viewed as consent. Even if consent isn’t needed, the entry conditions still apply.
