Whether or not you get paid for the cost of training (the course fees and your time to be there) depends. On the job training required by your employer and done during work hours must be paid. Your boss may agree to give you study leave and/or pay for the cost of going to conferences, workshops or courses that lead to qualifications. It's a good idea to agree in writing in advance whether training or study will be paid for.
