You may be entitled to be paid an allowance for travelling time, depending on your employment agreement and workplace policies. If you’ve agreed that travel during work hours is part of your normal work, then you should be paid for the time you travel between worksites. You’ll need to agree with your boss on payment for travel in other situations e.g. between work and home. As well as travel time, your boss may agree to reimburse expenses, for example using your personal vehicle or other transport.
Home and community support workers are an exception if the Home and Community Support (Payment for Travel Between Clients) Act 2016 applies.
