The COVID-19 pandemic has caused huge upheaval for employers and workers, but the law hasn't changed.
Employee and employer rights and obligations are set by the terms of the employment agreement - this includes what you agree on verbally as well as what you write down. There are some basic terms and conditions from the Employment Relations Act 2000, Minimum Wage Act 1983 and Holidays Act 2003 that apply to all employment agreements, even if they aren’t spelled out. You can't agree to less than your minimum conditions.
