Your employment agreement has to show any or all of: the number of hours, start and finish times, and what days of the week you’ll work.
It should set the maximum number of ordinary hours (apart from overtime) at 40 or less per week, unless you and your employer agree otherwise. If you have 40 hours or fewer, your work should be arranged so you can do it in 5 days or less. If your work is caring for others, you can ask your boss for flexible hours - they can only refuse for certain reasons.
Employment legislation doesn't define what full-time or part-time work is, but full-time is often seen as 35-40 hours a week. For statistical purposes, Statistics New Zealand defines full-time as working 30 hours or more per week.
