If you were discriminated against before employment, the Human Rights Act 1993 applies to discrimination in most aspects of employment including job advertisements, application forms, interviews and job offers before you have a job, as well as after you get the job. It also applies to unpaid workers and independent contractors.
The Human Rights Commission provides a free and confidential mediation service. If this doesn’t resolve the complaint, you can take a complaint to the Director of the Office of Human Rights Proceedings, Human Rights Review Tribunal.
