Sexual harassment at work is illegal, and that applies to sex workers just like anyone else.
Sexual assault is any sexual contact that you don’t consent to. If a client forces sexual contact on you or does something you didn’t agree to, that’s sexual assault and the client can be arrested and prosecuted.
The following things are illegal – they’re either sexual harassment or sexual assault:
• a client groping you at any time when you’re not providing sexual services, including when you’re in a waiting room,
• a client doing something or forcing you to do something you haven’t agreed to,
• offensive or unwelcome sexual behaviour, including offensive jokes and explicit posters that have a significant effect on your wellbeing.
