You can bring a personal grievance if your boss has disadvantaged you in these ways: by not recording any verbal agreement about your hours in your contract; or by breaching the rules on availability and ‘zero-hour’ contracts, or if they treated you unfairly when you exercised your right to turn down work when you didn’t have a valid availability clause in your contract; by breaching the rules on cancelling shifts, or by unreasonably stopping you working for other employers.
