What if my employer isn't passing on the wage subsidy to me?

When applying for the Wage Subsidy, all employers agree, at a minimum, to pass on the full subsidy received for each named employee (except you normally earn less than the subsidy amount, in which case you can be paid your normal income). They also declare that they'll only use it to meet named employees' ordinary wages and salary - not to pay rent and other bills.
Employers also agree to other conditions, including not unlawfully requiring named employees to use their annual, sick or other leave entitlements and not changing the terms of any employment agreement without the employee’s written agreement.
If your employer has received the subsidy, but you haven't received a payment, or you don't think you've received the right amount, first talk to your employer. Employers can apply for the subsidy for some or all of their employees. Check with your employer to see whether they have listed your name on the application. Employers can apply for part-time or full-time subsidies. Check with your employer what level of subsidy they applied for.
If you can't solve things with your employer or you think they've committed fraud, you can make a complaint to Employment New Zealand.
