You can get four weeks’ paid 'annual leave' after 12 months working in your job, whether it’s full or part-time, permanent, casual or fixed term. You and your boss can agree you’ll be paid out up to one week of your holidays each year.
Your annual leave balance is either given to you in full each year on the anniversary of the day you started work, or built up (accrued) as you work so it adds up to 4 weeks at the end of each year.
If your boss hasn’t given you your minimum rights, you or a labour inspector can ask the Employment Relations Authority to order a penalty, including one paid to you.
