Be sure to follow your company’s policy or the Protected Disclosures Act if you tell someone about wrongdoing. If you tell someone about serious wrongdoing by your boss, you’re protected from disciplinary or other retaliatory action. However, there are rules about who you can tell and if you report the disclosure to the wrong person e.g. the press/media, you may not be protected. These rules cover volunteers and board members, as well as employees.
